andibeer-deactivated20120327 asked: Hi John, I've been reading your articles on Cracked for awhile now, I'm particularly entertained by the fact that you make real life and everday situations like parenting and addiction so funny that I nearly spit my coffee on my computer monitor laughing at least once a week. Thursday is the best day of my work week. Anyway, I am not personally an alcoholic (although I can relate to you...
New article is up!
Not a fan of the title they chose, but here’s my newest article on AskMen.com: http://www.askmen.com/entertainment/austin_3800/3898_why-men-are-like-monkeys.html
New Interview I did with The Leaky Wiki
I liked this interview a lot because it wasn’t the normal questions you get with the average interview.
Edit: For those who are curious, I actually give out an excerpt from my book in that interview.
Just another ordinary day
Just doing the usual. Getting through morning withdrawal. Working up the energy to do some laundry. Got interviewed by Forbes. You know, the usual stuff.
Wrote My Newest While in Withdrawal
Hardest article I’ve written to date because I was actually smack dab in the middle of withdrawal when I wrote it. It took me twice as long to write, compared to my usual stuff. http://www.cracked.com/blog/5-life-lessons-you-only-learn-through-quitting-smoking/
Day One -- Facepunched
Resorted to nicotine gum towards the last part of the first day, but I did pretty good. Didn’t smoke at all (in fact, we have no nicotine besides patches and gum for help with quitting). Gonna try my hand at sleeping now. Thanks for the support, you sexy freaks. It meant a lot to me.
Now on to Day Two. (I’ll start filming these probably tomorrow)
Qutting Smoking. Again.
I’m probably going to be away from my social sites for a few days until this withdrawal passes. I figure if I’m going to be a dick to people, it’s going to be because I actually hate them, and not because the lack of nicotine in my system is making me physically and mentally flip out.
Started Day One about an hour ago, and I’m already feeling like I could punch random...
donzabu asked: Cracked-related question: with Soren Bowie's articles, the joke is that he's a narcissist who looks down on the less privileged. The joke with Dan O'Brien's articles is that he's a depressed comic book nerd. Is there any such joke going on with David Wong's articles? I'm not sure if I see it.
Interview from a fan!
This guy should do interviews for a living. This was really well-thought-out. http://verbosumprolix.tumblr.com/post/17756950951/john-cheese-gives-good-interview
calvinnohobbes asked: What's your take on influences, I mean how do you walk the fine line between being influenced by someone or just strait up writing how you think they'd write or basically copying them? Today I listened to about 4 hours of Mike Birbigila stand up and every time i tried to write something all I heard was his voice in my head. But maybes its just the fact that I haven't really...
dougcook asked: I really admire your and Wong's work, so I hope you take it as a form of flattery that you two just hugely influenced a gigantic piece of improv me and my friend did on our podcast.
thenerdmonk asked: Are you going to the Cracked show in Beloit next week? I would like to shake your hand.
rodviet asked: I don't know how anyone could ever actually say something bad about your work, I admire you for everything you stand, and I think today's article will be very good for us teenagers who are very likely to take advice from the people you described today, and completely fuck up. Your sincere advice really makes a difference in my life, thank you so so much Mr. John.
chowning asked: I've been reading your stuff since my loneliest days back in a cubicle around 2004. You write good pieces, and I'm happy to hear that you're making a living at it now. I'd pay you myself, but like I said: cubicle. I quit drinking almost 2 years ago to the day. I wish you would talk more about how revealing to strangers or infrequent acquaintances that you don't drink...
forget-me-not-blues asked: Hi John, huge fan of all your work :) Just wondered if there was any more news on the JDatE movie release? MAJORLY excited after reading all the glowing reviews, but been unable to find any info about an international release
entangledversion asked: How much of the world have you seen? and what was your favourite place?
